Charity Fun Run to Feature Bellin Run Elites

June 7, 2016

For a donation of their choice, public can run with the greats

Bellin Run participants and members of the public are invited to kick off their race weekend by running with world-class athletes while supporting a great cause.

The Friday, June 10 Run with Greatness Bellin Charity Fun Run will allow individuals the chance to rub elbows with running greats in exchange for a charitable donation that will benefit myTEAM TRIUMPH. Participants will run shoulder-to-shoulder, at a comfortable pace, with today’s stars and legends of the sport, including soon-to-be four-time Olympian Meb Keflezighi, “Boston Billy” Rodgers, Joan Benoit Samuelson, Uta Pippig, Frank Shorter, Risper Gesabwa and more.

The event is open to anyone and there is no fee; however, attendees are encouraged to make a freewill donation (one in the amount of their choosing) to myTEAM TRIUMPH, an athletic mentoring program for challenged community members. Donations can be made online or in person on the morning of the event.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for members of the public to get up close and personal with an unbelievable group of star athletes,” said Bellin Run Executive Race Director Randy Van Straten. “And the fact that all proceeds will benefit this terrific local organization — I can’t think of a better way to get race weekend started.”
