Revised Children’s Run Courses

April 30, 2010

Establishing an appropriate course distance for a children’s run is a challenge.

You don’t want the route to be so long that youngest runners end up being carried to the finish or so short that the more athletic children are left feeling short-changed. To address this challenge, the 2010 Bellin Run Children’s Run will offer two courses, complete with separate start lines.

As with last year, the older children (ages 8-10), will run a full loop around Astor Park, a distance of approximately half a mile.

Younger children (ages 7 and under) will have their own start line on Porlier Street and will run only halfway around the park, a distance of one quarter mile.

All children will finish on Eliza Street near the Bellin Run registration tent and the Health Expo.
