The Bellin Run is Over — Now What?

Running Expert Nate Vandervest helps participants stay motivated following the Bellin Run

For many participants, the Bellin Run is the Daytona 500 of their race season. They put in countless hours of training through all types of weather conditions to enjoy the thrill of crossing the finish line.

So once it’s over, what’s next? We want to keep you training and leading an active lifestyle with our Titletown Wellness Race Series.

Now in its fifth year, the series includes races that take place from June through November. It kicks off with the 10K (6.2-mile) Bellin Run and also includes the Packers 5K (Saturday, July 22), Shanty Days 5K (Saturday, Aug. 12), City Stadium 5K (Saturday, Sept. 9), Bellin Women’s Half Marathon (Saturday, Oct.7), Run for the Hill of It 5K (Saturday, Oct. 14) and the Festival Foods Turkey Trot (Thursday, Nov. 23).

Each of these runs offers something unique, from running through Lambeau Field and Old City Stadium to running next to Lake Michigan and the trails of Baird Creek. There’s even a pre-Thanksgiving meal run to help burn off those Turkey-Day calories.

The Titletown Wellness Race Series was started in part to keep people active after they’d spent so much time training for the Bellin Run. In just a few years, our numbers support the fact that we are keeping more people running or walking year-round with this series. It is a fun and interactive way to compete against friends, family and co-workers.

The race series awards points for participation, age group finish and gender finish, with the most points given for participation — so it isn’t always the fastest runners who win their age group at year’s end. In fact, our winners to date have been the most consistent participants, not necessarily the speediest.

Plus, there’s an added incentive — great race series gear awards for participants who complete four or more of the series’ races. And it’s so much fun to see many of the same people at event after event, talking to and congratulating each other post-race.

So give the Titletown Wellness Race Series a shot to remain active and see how you compare to others. Who knows, you might be the next age group champion!
