Train with us at Titletown!

February 12, 2018

Runners and walkers training for Green Bay’s signature 10K can log their miles in the shadow of Lambeau Field this year as the Bellin Run’s free Wednesday training sessions move to the health system’s newest clinic.

Beginning March 21, training run/walks for the June 9 Bellin Run will be held at the new Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine & Orthopedics, 1970 S. Ridge Road. Located in the heart of the Green Bay Packers’ new Titletown development, Bellin Health Titletown provides high-quality care for casually active people and pro athletes alike.

“Bellin Health Titletown offers second-to-none expertise and resources for athletes, all under one roof,” said executive race director Randy Van Straten. “Having our training runs at this great new facility makes a lot of sense — and the view is great, too!”

Of particular note for Bellin Run trainees, Bellin Titletown offers free walk-in injury assessment six days a week. Wednesday hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m., meaning walkers and runners can stop in before or after the 6 p.m. training sessions to be evaluated by a licensed athletic trainer.

Each training run/walk begins with a short informational session on a topic of interest to individuals training for the Bellin Run. Bellin running coach Nate Vandervest then leads the group in a dynamic warm-up before participants head out on one of two routes of varying distance. Water is offered at the start and finish, and training run organizers provide a secure spot for keys and other items runners and walkers don’t wish to carry.

The training run/walks are open to all levels and abilities, Vandervest said.

“No matter what your pace, you’ll find someone who is running or walking at a similar speed,” he said. “These training sessions are a great chance to meet your fellow Bellin Run participants, build camaraderie and have fun as you prepare for race day. We’re so excited for our runners and walkers to experience this new facility and new training run routes. We hope to see you there!”
