Course

Start Reconfigured

PRESENTED BY Fox Communities Credit Union

The starting line for the 2008 Bellin Run will be on Webster Ave. immediately south of the skywalk. Participants will line up in the area in six corrals, defined by category and pace. These include:

  • Corral 1 – Sub 40 minute runners (Green bibs)
  • Corral 2 – Sub 50 minute runners (Blue bibs)
  • Corral 3 – Sub 60 minute runners (Purple bibs)
  • Corral 4 – Over 60 minute runners (White bibs)
  • Corral 5 – Walkers (Yellow bibs)
  • Corral 6 – All Strollers (Orange bibs)

Participants’ ASSOCIATED BANK bibs will be color-coded to assist runners and walkers with finding their assigned corral. The corrals and bibs will ensure the start of the event moves smoothly and efficiently. All participants need to be in their assigned corral or a later numbered corral. (For example, corral 3 runners may enter corrals 3 through 6, but not corrals 1 or 2.) This will provide friends and family of differing skill levels the opportunity to start together.

For safety reason, participants with strollers will not be allowed in any corral except corral 6, the stroller corral.

Finish Reconfigured

PRESENTED BY Fox Communities Credit Union

The start and finish line are one in the same in 2008, following minor course revisions. Finishing on Webster Ave. will give participants increased space and a dramatic setting. The move has also allowed Bellin Run officials to enhance medical areas, spectator seating, the flow of finishers and ease of access to refreshments.

Stroller Corral

(PRESENTED BY OB-GYN ASSOCIATES)

To keep all participants safe while still encouraging family participation, a non-competitive stroller division has been added. If you are pulling a wagon or pushing a stroller or baby jogger (either running or walking) you must start in the designated stroller corral. This corral will start behind the runners at the same time as the walkers. There will be no distinct stroller division results published; stroller participant results will appear with the overall results.

Included with your entry in the Stroller Division is one additional T-shirt for the registered participant and up to two T-shirts for your “passengers.” The T-shirts will be available for pickup upon presentation of your registration packet at the OB-GYN Associates booth at the Friday Night Expo.

Entry Fee

$17 through June 2; $20 from June 3-14; $5 for the children's run. A portion of your entry fee is donated to the Bellin College of Nursing scholarship fund.

Optional Technical T-Shirt Upgrade

New this year, the Bellin Run is offering a shirt upgrade. For just $10, participants can upgrade from a cotton t-shirt to a technical shirt made with a special material designed to wick moisture away from your body. The technical shirts keep runners drier and more comfortable, making them a hit in the running and sports worlds.

Running Division

Male and Female: age 9 and under, age 10-12, age 13-14, age 15-18, age 19-24, age 25-29, age 30-34, age 35-39, age 40-44, age 45-49, age 50-54, age 55-59, age 60-64, age 65-69, age 70 and older.

Walking Division

Open to anyone interested in walking the course. This is a noncompetitive event. Walkers will be timed.

Wheelchair Division

Open to experienced wheelchair racers. Push rims and handcranks will be awarded separatley. Athletes in each division will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place plaques in male and female categories. All racers are required to wear helmets.

Registration

Registration is now open and is available both online and offline options.

Preferred Starting Positions

This year the Bellin Run will have the following four starting corrals:

  • Corral 1 (Green): < 40:00
  • Corral 2 (Blue): 40:00 - 49:59
  • Corral 3 (Purple): 50:00 - 59:59
  • Corral 4 (White): 60:00+

Please indicate your anticipated finish time on the registration form.

ChampionChip© Timing System

All 10K runners and walkers will be issued a computerized chip to attach to their shoe. These chips will enable all participants to receive a more accurate time as the chip will record the time when it crosses the start line and when it crosses the finish line. To receive a time, you must cross both the starting line and finish line. Your chip time will be your official time. All chips must be returned at the finish line or you will be charged $30. Runners with their own ChampionChip chips can use them. Please record the registration number on your Bellin Run entry form.

Strollers

The Bellin Run is a family event and strollers and wagons are encouraged in the proper areas. For safety reasons strollers are not allowed in the running corrals. They are allowed in the designated stroller area directly in front of the walkers corral. Wagons are also allowed in the stroller or walking area. No pets or rollerblades are allowed on the course.
