GREEN BAY — The 49th annual Bellin Run is a unique-to-our-area event that is all about getting feet on the street in the name of health. This year, the event is also offering an opportunity for participants, volunteers and spectators to learn a life-saving technique, hands-only CPR.
Event participants and community members are welcome to join the FREE training at the Bellin Run Health & Fitness Expo from 3-8 p.m. Friday, June 13 at Astor Park. Hands-only CPR training does not require an appointment and takes just a few minutes. Attendees will learn the basics of CPR, focusing on chest compressions and recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest.
For any sudden cardiac collapse, starting CPR within one minute is key.
“This is a life-saving skill anyone can learn — and potentially save a life while waiting for help to arrive in an emergency,” said Bellin Run Medical Coordinator Roland Schmidt. “We want to get as many people trained as possible, and our Bellin Run Expo is the perfect opportunity to help meet that goal.”
