Free Run a Better Bellin class starts March 23

March 11, 2011

Runners and walkers planning to take part in the 2011 Bellin Run have a free tool to aid their training and performance goals.

That tool, the free Run a Better Bellin training class, offers group training sessions leading up to the Bellin Run. The sessions are held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Bellin Health’s Green Bay Health & Athletic Performance Center, 1630 Commanche Ave. Participants meet in the center’s west reception area.

Participants of all experience levels are welcome to join the training runs/walks. Attendees can participate in all or some of the training sessions.

The 2011 Bellin Run will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 11. More than 18,000 people registered for the run/walk event last year. It is the seventh largest 10K event in the United States.

In related news, a new runner’s clinic will offer additional help with training for the Bellin Run and other 10K events.

The 10K clinic will be taught from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, March 26 by Nate Vandervest, a running specialist with Bellin Health Fitness & Athletic Performance.

Interested participants are encouraged to call (920) 430-4722 for more information or visit http://www.xlplaylarge.com/pdf/2011_10K_clinic.pdf
